A global lowering of consumer demand is creating a bad business atmosphere. Millions of workers are becoming unemployed or are forced to take a cut in pay. The government is coming to the rescue of the big three in the auto industry. They are paying the companies to keep their workers and stay in business until consumer demand returns. It is called a bailout. Many say that if a company goes under it should be a private affair. But due to political pressure the big three are going to be supported by tax payers until business returns to normal which might take years. It would be fair if the millions of workers in other industries whose companies were going broke were also bailed out. But unfortunately life is not fair.
